Georgia Ellen Hayes, a 73 year resident of Greenfield and Salinas, passed away on May 6th, 2025, after living a full, wonderful life surrounded by family. She was 95 years old.

She was born on April 18th, 1930, in George, Arkansas to Jasper & Melvinia Clark. She was born 8th of 10 children. Georgia moved to California in 1952 where she met and married the love of her life, Rex, on April 5th, 1952. She spent 73 love filled and happy years committed to her adoring husband.

Georgia could always be found gardening, cooking & baking, and reading. For her nothing could top spending time with her treasured family. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was always willing to babysit and care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Georgia is preceded in death by her husband Rex, son Raymond, oldest daughter Laura, parents Jasper & Melvinia, sisters Pina, Virginia, Nora, Louisiana, Opal & Artie, and her brothers Jonah & Norman.

Georgia is survived by her sister Polly, daughters Cathy (Cary) Shaw & Nancy (Robert) Asuncion, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and countless extended family that will deeply miss her.

The family would like to extend thanks to Central Coast Senior Services & Honor's Staff, Georgia's caregiver Brianna, and Maria & the wonderful staff at Country Meadows Care Home.

Cathy & Nancy would like to thank Georgia for being a wonderful and loving mother!

Visitation will be Saturday, 9:00 a.m., May 17th, 2025 at Eddington Funeral Services in King City, followed by 11:00 a.m. graveside services at King City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who wish, make donations to the Central Coast VNA.
