Obituary

George L. Pruitt, 78 of King City passed away peacefully on August 27, 2020 at his home with his family by his side.  George was born October 31, 1941 in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

George enjoyed making guitars and woodworking, discussing politics and sports, horse racing and the rodeo. He was a birdwatcher and an animal lover and utilized the S.P.C.A spay and neuter program for the stray cats that made their way to his property. George was a lover of people and family and loved storytelling. He often spoke of Oklahoma and how much he loved his friends and family there. George was an inventor and created many tools and gadgets used around his home. He was a unique man and is deeply missed.

George married the love of his life, Chloe Dell Coker on May 11, 1962.  They were married for 58 years and were together for 60.

He leaves behind his wife, Chloe Pruitt, Sisters; Debbie Moore and Melba Dean, Sister-in-laws; Norma Pruitt and Midge Wancura-Pruitt, Children; Cara Byrd and Melissa Cottingham, Grandchildren; Elliott Davis, Dylan Byrd, Brittany Cottingham, David Cottingham and Hunter Cottingham; Great Grand children, Jamie Cottingham and Owen Cottingham; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

No services are scheduled at this time.  George's cremated remains will be buried in the Yeager Cemetery in Yeager, Oklahoma alongside his brothers.
