Garnett V. Buckner, 88, passed away April 20, 2023, in Salinas, California surrounded by his family. He was born September 26, 1934 in Fairgrove, Missouri. He resided in Greenfield, CA for most of his life.

He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and loved his family deeply. He was a proud member of the Greenfield Fire Department and the American Legion. He was married 66 and a half years, and cherished his family. He proudly served in the US Army for 3 years and served in the Korean War. He spent over 70 years working as a professional agriculturist in several branches at Sam McKinsey Farms and retired from Fallin' Oak Packing.

Garnett leaves behind his wife, Bobbie Buckner, 84, his daughter Delene and her husband Travis of Greenfield, CA, his 6 grandchildren and their partners, Jeremy and Donna, John and Lindsey, Dewey and Sarah, Brandi and Nic, Jessica and Gary, Stephanie and David, and his 11 great-grandkids, KayLee, Trevor, Quanah, Taylor, Tarah, Benji, Mauruk, Addison, Nate, Eli, and Maurine. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Garnett is preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Cordilla Hicks, son, Dewayne Buckner, his brothers Jim and Jack Hicks, and his sister Dixie Pullie.

A private viewing will be held in King City, California, followed by graveside services at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in the Oak Park Cemetery, Greenfield, California.
