Fred Diaz Sr. passed away on January 28, 2023 in Sioux City, Iowa. He was born January 21, 1924 in Waldona, Colorado.

Fred enjoyed watching boxing and NFL Football.  He supported any team that was from California. His hobbies and interests included working on cars, small motor repair and working in the backyard. He enjoyed keeping up on current news events, always reading the daily newspaper as well as doing the crossword puzzles. Fred was always up for a road trip.  He continued driving into his early 90's.

Fred served in the US Army during WWII.  His tour of duty included participation in D-Day, Battle of the Bulge, Ardennes Campaign, and Rhineland operations.

Fred came to King City to join his family upon his discharge.  He was a member of the American Legion and King City VFW.

Fred is survived by his son, Fred Diaz Jr.; brother, Tom Diaz; sister, Anna Zavela and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private Graveside Services will be held.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations in memory of Fred, be made to your local American Legion or VFW.
