Francisca Garcia Raso, 79 passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital with her family by her side. Born April 2, 1933 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamualipas, Mexico she has been a resident of South Monterey County in excess of 60 years.

Francisca enjoyed dancing, gardening, cooking, singing and especially being with her family, friends and adopted daughters. She always looked forward to going to garage sales. She cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a very social individual and always loved letting people know they were "Number One" in her book. She was always willing to offer helpful advice. She was a loving, caring person who seemed to always have a smile and a great sense of humor. Francisca retired after working for Basic American Foods, Inc. for 25 years, she was a member of Teamsters Local 890.

Francisca is survived by her children, Robert (Laura) Velasquez, Henry (Katherine) Garcia, Betty (Jose) Ochoa, Maria (Al) Abeytia, Fances (Jesus) Raso, Joe Jr. (Velma) Raso, Gloria Raso Gallardo and Mariano Raso; brothers, Robert Garcia and Filimon Garcia. She is preceded in death by her husband Joe D. Raso Sr., grandson, Daniel Joe Raso, son, Marcus Velasquez and sister Orelia Garcia.

A Visitation was held, 4pm – 6pm, Thursday, November 15th, at St. John's Catholic Church. A Rosary Vigil followed at 6pm. A Funeral Mass was held, 1pm, Friday, November 16th, at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment followed at King City District Cemetery.
