Fidencio M. Jaramillo, 90 of King City passed away peacefully at his home with his family at his side, Monday, March 12, 2012.
VISITATION is scheduled 5pm to 7pm, Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at St. John's Catholic Church, King City.
ROSARY will be held, 7pm at St. John's Catholic Church.
FUNERAL MASS will be 10am, Thursday, March 15, 2012 at St. John's Catholic Church.
BURIAL will take place at King City District Cemetery.
Mr. Jaramillo was born November 16, 1921 in Manuel Doblado, GTO, Mexico. He first came to the United States while working as a Bracero in agriculture. In 1966 he was able to bring his family to live in the US. They lived in El Centro, Calif. while he continued to work in agriculture. In 1968 the family moved to King City and they have lived here ever since. Mr. Jaramillo continued working in agriculture until the early 1970's. He then started working at Cal Compact Foods, Inc. where he retired after 20+ years.
Mr. Jaramillo enjoyed reading. He was an accomplished poet. He has had many of his poems published. He enjoyed gardening, growing peppers of all kinds in his garden. He loved to spend time with his family. He loved to play Dominos and be on the floor playing with the grand kids. He was devoted to his church and faith. He was a parishioner of St. John's Catholic Church where he participated as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Sociedad Guadalupana where he was a past President and Treasurer. He was involved in the Buena Esperanza Project being a past Treasurer. He was also a past member of the United Farm Workers where he participated in several walks in support of the farm labor workers rights. He walked with Cesar Chavez and Jerry Brown.
Mr. Jaramillo is survived by his wife of 62 years, Maria Jaramillo; daughters, Cecilia (Richard) Rotharmel, Magdalena (Mo)Janbahan, Lourdes Petti; sons, Martin (Lupe) Jaramillo, Rafael (Miro) Jaramillo, Alfonso Jaramillo, Pedro (Elena) Jaramillo, Fidencio (Reyna) Jaramillo Jr., Jorge (Dora) Jaramillo; 34 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sons, Julian Jaramillo and Javier Jaramillo; his daughter, Lupita Jaramillo,his grandson, Francisco Jaramillo and his daughter-in-law, Maria Ramona Jaramillo.
