IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Fernando
Hernandez
November 21, 1971 – February 25, 2024
Fernando Hernandez was born November 21st, 1971, in King City California. Fernando was raised by his mother Maria Luisa Valdivia and his father Eron Hernandez. Fernando also had a sister Marylou Hernandez. He grew up in King City for his whole life and worked at the local King City Cogeneration Plant for many years and over time found his last job that he loved to do. This job was in Soledad California for the Soledad Unified School District as a bus driver/ custodian for over 18 years of his life. Fernando was also a father to four children, Crystal, David, Sara, and Pearl. Fernando lived a life having fun nights out with his many friends, and at home playing video games with his children. As the years passed by being a father became more challenging after three of his children's mothers found their paths different than his and he continued his journey with seeing his children less due to distance and growing up. He tried to do the best he could without the knowledge of how to be a father alone. With time and his job as a bus driver, he found peace in the little things and the connection with his nieces and nephew. He showed love and caring towards those he held dear and always tried to be there when he was needed.
Fernando also gave a lot of pride and joy to the students who saw him every day as their bus driver. He loved his job, and many students admired and enjoyed bus rides and seeing him around campus many called him Superman because he loved the DC characters Superman and Batman and had his collection and costumes that he would show the children and his coworkers. As he recently passed, the children shared their sorrow with his family and other bus drivers they are going to miss Superman. Fernando loved to entertain and be the center of attention to bring smiles and laughter to those around him. He had many family members and close friends with whom he shared so many memories until the very end.
Here are some words from his oldest children, his aunt, uncle cousins and sister, and her daughters.
Crystal (daughter): Growing up between us many things have happened but no matter what you taught me many lessons that have shaped me as an adult, such as always getting your work done first and always being clean and organized. It may seem simple but because of that I am organized with my bills and schooling and as an adult having a clean room and house is the most peaceful feeling.
David (Son): I love you, Dad, I always worried about you, but now I know you are at peace. I know you are watching over me, and I just hope one day when you check in on me, you will be proud of the man I become. You are a good man and all your best characteristics; I will always carry with me. You were always in my corner; I love you so many pops. Thank you for everything.
Tia Sari, Tio Luis, Eric, and Nacy (Aunt/Uncle/ Cousins): We will cherish all the moments we spent together, and you will always be in our hearts. We will remember you with your beautiful smile.
Marylou, Chris, Lisa, Angelee, Erynne, Faith, Ally AKA baby sister (sister, nephew, nieces): Brother I have always been proud to be your sister, you will always be a part of our hearts. We love you and miss you dearly.
