Elizabeth Johnson, 84 of King City passed away, Monday, September 26, 2011 at George L. Mee Memorial Hospital.
Born in San Diego, Calif. she attended Cathedral Girls grade school and graduated from Cathedral Girls high School. She moved to Salinas, Calif. Her past employments included working in a dress shop. She was a fabulous seamstress. She also worked as a Bank Teller for Bank of America, an Operator for Bell Telephone Company and eventually worked 19 years for Sears and Roebuck Company as a Credit Supervisor and then in their Human Resource Department.
She soon met Arlin Johnson and they were married May 3, 1975. Together they moved to South Monterey County and have lived south of King City since 1980.
Her past memberships include, Monterey County Cattlewoman's Association. She was named Cattlewoman of the year February 13, 1997. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America. She was a parishioner of St. John's Catholic Church where she volunteered many years in the office. Liz also volunteer at George L. Mee Memorial Hospital and the Salinas Valley Fair.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Arlin; daughters, Terry Babcock, Cathy Ames and Nancy Clover; brother, Joe Oliveria; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Gabino, Victor, Tommy; sisters, Ignacia and Felisima; step-daughters, Janet Dalman, Arlene Conn and Carlene Gidmidt.
A Visitation is scheduled 5pm to 7pm, Thurs., September 29th at Eddington Funeral Services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10am, Fri., Sept. 30th at St. John's Catholic Church. Followed by Burial at San Lucas Cemetery.
