Dolores Grace "Lolly" King, passed away peacefully in San Ardo, California on May 14, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Paso Robles, California November 25, 1926 to Anita and Viviano (Victor) Martinez.
Dolores worked many years in King City schools cafeterias. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, camping, playing the guitar, singing and listening to country music. In her early years, prior to marriage, Dolores and her sister Josie performed in area bars and honky-tonks. She was known to enjoy an occasional Bud Light. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and great grand babies.
Dolores took pride in her Native American ancestry through the local Salinan Tribe. In her younger years she greatly enjoyed family outings with Family Jeepers and the Fresno Jeep Club.
She is survived by her brother, Arthur Martinez of Phoenix, Arizona and sister, Margaret Hackett (Bill Lawton) of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Also children, Douglas G. Jr. (Veva) of King City, Paul (Debbie) of King City, Mike (Kathy Vopat) of Coalinga, Betty LeLievre (Chuck) of San Ardo, and Troy (Tammie Gerberding) of Sparks, Nevada. Dolores is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 50 years, Doug King, Sr., who passed in May, 1997, and numerous siblings.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
