David S. Garnica Sr., 91 of Oxnard, Calif. went home to be with the Lord on August 3, 2019 with family by his side.

David was very proud that he served in the US Army and that he fought in the Korean War.  He loved being with family and friends; enjoyed gardening in the back yard. He was an avid Dodgers fan and looked forward to Laughlin, Nevada trips with his niece Dolores and her husband Uncle Joe.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Guadalupe and Carmen; son, Jose and grandson David III; parents, Gonzalo and Maria; siblings, Pasquala Vasquez, Dolores Garnica, Rosa Sabado, Annie Moreno, Philip, Peter, Raymond and Gonzalo Jr.

He is survived by his sons, David (Prudencia) of Salinas, Joseph (Raquel) of South Gate, Calif., Ruben of Los Angeles; siblings, Jovita Magana of Greenfield, Esperanza Partida of King City, Mary Lou (Carol) Martella of Salinas and Margaret (Lucio) Hernandez of Texas, Henry Garnica of Los Angeles; grandchildren, Elena Garnica of Hayward, Joselina Garnica, Rudy, Joe Joe, Angel (Precious) and Virgie (Daniel) Gutierrez all of South Gate, Dolores Garnica, David and Joseph of Los Angeles; great grandchildren, Brandon and Mia McGuatha of Hayward, Eric, Danny, Joshua, Richard, Anthony and Virginia all of South Gate. Plus 100's of cousins, nieces and nephews.

SERVICE INFORMATION:

A Memorial Rosary at 9:00 a.m. and Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. will be held on Monday, September 9, 2019 at St. John's Catholic Church, 504 N. Third Street in King City.  Following the services the family invites you to St. John's McHugh Hall for a gathering.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Mr. Garnica.
