Claude J. Knott, 78 of King City passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at his home. Claude was born October 2, 1937 in Milan, Tennessee.
Claude's family traveled west from Tennessee and they eventually landed in King City. Claude has lived here ever since. This is where he got to know a girl by the name of Barbara Smith. They dated and became high school sweethearts. They decided to elope to Las Vegas with family and friends in tow and were married on Halloween Day, October 31, 1958. They had two children, Brett and Keith Knott.
Claude served in the US Army for two years and was stationed at Ft. Hunter Liggett. He worked for Basic American Foods as a mechanic and supervisor for 27 years. He was a dedicated family man. Family came first. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, old westerns, football and just being with family. He was a quiet man of few words, but definitely had a sense of humor.
His wife Barbara preceded him in death in 2002. Claude is survived by his two sons, Brett Knott and wife Lisa, Keith Knott and his wife Lisa; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Aaron, Rachel, Melissa, Megan, Joshua, Madison, James and Makenzie; brother, Michael Knott and wife Charlene.

Claude will be laid to rest beside his wife, Barbara in King City District Cemetery. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2015.
