Clarence Walter "Walt" Davis, Jr., 81 of Greenfield, Calif. passed away on October 24, 2015 in King City after a lengthy illness.
Walt was born December 16, 1933 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Clarence Walter and Stella (Rains) Davis. He graduated from Porterville High School and later enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. While stationed in Great Falls, Montana he met his love, JoAnn. There they were married before moving to Greenfield. Walt and JoAnn made their home in Greenfield where they raised their family.
Walt loved the Salinas Valley and the people he socialized with throughout his life. He worked in the family business, Greenfield Dry Cleaners for several years and eventually started work for Meyer Tomatoes where he remained for many years. He retired from his business "Walter T Transport" when his wife became ill and he remained by her side during her battle with cancer.
Walt was a proud member of the Greenfield American Legion until his illness.
Walt was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn; his father Clarence, his mother Stella, his brother Albert Davis and his sister Beverly Harrington.
Walt is survived by his three children, Britt (Amanda) Davis, Teri (Mike) Silva and Byron Davis; six grandchildren, Taylor, Nathan, Carter, Lauren, Christopher and Mikayla; his brother Norman Davis of Porterville and his sister Delores McKinney of Oklahoma.
Private family services will be held.
