IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christina
Willenborg
December 25, 1956 – November 8, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christina Willenborg on November 8, 2025, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on December 25, 1956 in Timmins, Ontario, Christina lived a life defined by passion, adventure, and dedication to others. She is lovingly survived by her husband Steven Willenborg, daughter Karli Plamondon and son-in-law Alex Plamondon, granddaughter Rosie Plamondon, son Joshua Willenborg and daughter-in-law Taylor Willenborg. She is also survived by her brother Tom Jones and sister Mona Fields. Christina was predeceased by her beloved parents, Quinta and Tom Jones, sister Ann Burns and brother-in-law Raymond Burns, and best friend Carrie Meschner.
Christina earned degrees from the University of Western Ontario (Kinesiology Degree), the University of Windsor (Bachelor of Education), and York University (Honors Bachelor of Fine Arts). She began her career as a physical trainer and went on to become a physical and health education teacher, inspiring countless students through her energy and enthusiasm. She remained an advocate for lifelong learning and healthy living throughout her life.
An accomplished athlete and true sports enthusiast, Christina was a gymnast, golfer, skier, and hiker who embraced every opportunity to be active and outdoors. Her adventurous spirit led her across the globe — from walking the Great Wall of China, to exploring the U.S. and Canadian National Parks, Asia, South America, and Europe.
Beyond her professional and athletic pursuits, Christina will be remembered for her love of fine wine, good food, puzzles, books, and her backyard pool — but most of all, for the deep joy she found in the company of family and friends.
Christina's warmth, strength, and zest for life touched everyone who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and inspiration that will be carried forward by all who were fortunate to share in her remarkable journey.
