Buena Laviece Kreidler, 92 of King City passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on Thursday, June 28, 2012. She was born in Missouri to Norman and Ada Pewitt in 1920 and came to California at the age of three.
The family moved to Greenfield in 1951 and King City in 1953. They lived there for the next 13 years until she and Vinnie moved to Morro Bay where they lived and worked for the next 12 years. Buena returned to KC in 1979 and has been here ever since.
Buena was a member of Silver Kings & Queens and the Mee Memorial Service League. Buena loved to feed her family and they loved everything she made for them, especially her famous pies. Her family especially loved her ample apple pies, but it was her iconic lemon meringue pie that the community coveted. It was always the first to go at Silver Kings & Queens and helped to raise thousands of dollars at numerous charity auctions. She will be missed for much more than her pies.
Buena is survived by her daughters; Carol Perkins, Kathleen Davis and her husband Chris Davis all of King City; grandchildren, Lisa Lasnick and her husband, Randy of San Rafael, Mark Plaskett and Julie Smart of King City, Leslie Merrill and her husband, Scott of Monterey, Andrew Davis and his wife, Amber of King City, Tim Davis and his wife, CJ of King City; five great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Buena is preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Kreidler who passed away in 1977. They were married 39 years.
A Graveside Service will be held, 3pm, Monday, July 1, 2012 at Cayucos Cemetery in Cayucos, California.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be sent to Central Coast Hospice, 45 Plaza Circle, Salinas, CA 93901.
