Billie McElmoyl, 92 of Greenfield passed away peacefully at Eden Valley Care in Soledad October 1, 2016.

She was born June 6, 1924 in Texas to Milford and Sula Edwards. The family moved to California when she was a baby where her father had a farm and raised cotton. Over the next twenty years five brothers joined the family. Billie being the only girl was the princess of the clan.

She attended Fresno State. She married John "Mac" McElmoyl in 1945 while he was still in the Navy. John completed his Pharmacy Degree at UCSF in 1951. In 1960 they became owners of Greenfield Pharmacy. They raised three children. Mom was always involved and motivated us to be all we could be. Whether it was through P.T.A., Sunday School, various girls clubs, Den Mother (Cub Scouts), 4-H etc.

Billie enjoyed being an active member at church, Eastern Star, SoMoCo Republican Women and other organizations. If she knew of someone in need, she would help, by giving food she made, meals from the Frostop and delivering prescriptions … many acts of kindness.

Billie was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, her parents and three brothers.

Billie is survived by her children, Diana McElmoyl, Betty (Ed)Shackelford, John (Lisa) McElmoyl; fourgrandchildren; five great grandchildren, and brothers, Ralph (Janet) Edwards and Gerald (Liinda) Edwards as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Our family would especially like to express our gratitude to Jason Madderra for his care and companionship to our Mother.

SERVICE INFORMATION:
A Celebration of Life will be held, 12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Greenfield Memorial Hall in Greenfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes any donations be made to the Greenfield Fire Department or the Animal Friends Rescue Project at 560 Lighthouse ave., Pacific Grove, CA 93940.
