Betty June Pura, 90 long time resident of So. Monterey County and King City passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022.  She was born February 18, 1932 in Watsonville, California.

Betty was a graduate of King City High School.  She had worked at Basic American Foods, Inc. in King City.  From 1970 to 2012, Betty "The Cake Lady", was very well known for her baking and decorating of cakes for weddings, showers or any occasion.  She taught Cub Scouts and was a past Den Mother in the 1950's while her children were growing up. She taught cooking for 4-H in the 1970's.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints and was an Elder of the Xolon, Salinas Indian Tribe.

She is survived by her children, Randall (Kathy) Pura, Janet Martinez and Nancy Blohm; grandchildren, Barbara Pura, Steven J. Pura, Jamie (Ramey) Morrison, Jill Stanford, Aaron (Vanessa) Martinez, Jodi (Jared) Dewey, Kasen Dedini, Robert Blohm; step-grandchildren, James Hicks and Kristina Randall; great grandchildren, Travis and Amanda Hicks, Anthony and Jacob Hammel, Lacie Pura, Steven Randall Pura, Emily and Olivia Carota, Savannah and Jerimiah Morrison, James Morris, Kaitlynn Salvagno, Dylan Alburger, Austin and Jashua Silva, Jadeyn and Noah Dewey; great-great grandchild, Steven John Pura.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Pura in 1986 and one grandson, Stephen J. Pura in 2017, also preceding her in death were her brothers, Lloyd Larson (WWII – 1945) and Ted Larson in 1960.

Services will be held at Eddington Funeral Chapel. The Visitation from 4pm to 8pm on Friday, July 1, 2022 and a Funeral Service at 10am on Saturday, July 2, 2022.  Burial will follow in the King City Cemetery.
