IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bernice Phyllis
Silveira
June 14, 1936 – June 12, 2021
Bernice Phyllis Silveira, 84, of King City passed away on June 12, 2021 just two days shy of her 85th birthday.
She was born on June 14, 1936 to Phillip and Rita Mocettini in Salinas, California. Bernice was a life-long South County resident, living in Greenfield and later in life in King City.
She married the love of her life, Manuel Silveira, on June 21, 1956 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They made their first home on the A.F. Silveira Ranch. There she was a homemaker, and they raised their four daughters, Annette, Julie, Diane, and Cheri.
Besides being a devoted wife and mother, Bernice was a woman who enjoyed reading suspenseful novels, shopping, and traveling. Her favorite destinations with Manuel were Santa Barbara, Solvang, Lake Tahoe, and the big island of Hawaii.
Bernice was also a life-long animal lover. Living on the ranch, she allowed dogs, cats, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, and various birds to join the home. Although she loved all animals, Siamese cats were her favorites.
Bernice is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Silveira, and her sister, Doris Bowden. She is survived by her four daughters, Annette (Reg) Dahlen, Julie (Allen) Goodson, Diane (John) McCoy, and Cheri (Mitch) Anderson. She is also survived by six grandsons, Beau McCoy, Emmett McCoy, Ben Goodson, Alex Goodson, Henry Dahlen, and Grant Anderson, and one granddaughter, Bailey Anderson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donations can be made to the SPCA, Smile Train, and Shriner's Hospital for Children.
The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to her caregivers, Arsenia Menor and Carmen Salindo from the Caring Hands agency. We would also like to give our deepest thanks to the staff of Mee Memorial Hospital for the excellent care they provided during the final week of her life.
A Visitation is scheduled from 5pm to 6pm followed by a 6pm Rosary Service on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Eddington Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Friday, June 25, 2021 at St. John's Catholic Church. Following the mass, Bernice will be laid to rest next to her husband Manuel in the King City Cemetery.
