Obituary

Beatrice M. Yochim, 89 of King City passed away peacefully on January 27, 2015.

Bea was born on March 26, 1925 in King City, CA. She was born to Francisco and Petra Rodriquez who raised her in San Lucas with nine brothers and sisters. Bea attended elementary school in San Lucas and graduated from King City High School in 1944. Four years after her high school graduation in 1948, she met William (Bill) Yochim by introduction through her brother Frank. This introduction led to their marriage on March 5, 1949. Bea and her husband Bill raised four children, two boys and two girls. While they made their home primarily in King City, the family also lived in Bakersfield for a while and had a trailer in Morro Bay where Bill worked for Mobile Oil.

Bea held numerous jobs from babysitting, working at Devin's Cleaners to serving as the lunch supervisor for many years in the King City School District. Being a devout Catholic, Bea also took on several jobs at St. John's Catholic Church. She was part of the Altar Society, served as a Eucharistic minister, counted money from the weekly collection and folded the weekly bulletin for many, many years.

Things that put a smile on Bea's face were singing, dancing, getting together with family and friends, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren Courtney and Cameron Weis. Bea's caregivers for the past three years, Kristina and Serena, were great and took very good care of her. Bea also spent a short time at Traditions under the care of Maynard and Michelle.

She is survived by her daughter MaryAnn (Bryan) Wies and grandchildren Courtney and Cameron Wies as well as sisters Lupe and Rosie and numerous nieces and nephews. Bea was preceded in death by her husband Bill and children Kristi, Billy and Charlie in addition to her own parents.

The family asks that donations made in the memory of Bea Yochim be sent to St. John's Church in King City or a charity of personal choice.

A Recitation of the Rosary was held on Thursday, January 29th. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, January 30th. All Services were held at St. John's Catholic Church, 504 N. Third St., King City. Bea was laid to rest beside in King City Cemetery.
