Barbara M. Whitney, 89 of King City passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023. She was born February 3, 1934 in Northwood, North Dakota. Her parents were Arthur Glenn and Margaret Winslow.

She arrived in King City by train February of 1943. She graduated from Greenfield Grammar School in June of 1948, attended King City High School until the family moved to Salinas. She graduated from Salinas High School in 1953.

Barbara worked at Monterey County Trust and Savings Bank.  She married William R. Whitney in 1952 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She is survived by her children, William L. Whitney (Karen), Robert Whitney, and Laurie Komenda; grandchildren who were dearly loved, Lee Whitney (Katie), Callie Whitney, Baillie Buhler, and Justin Buhler; great-great grandchild, Scarlett Whitney. She is also survived by Sandra Grissom (sister in heart); dear family friends, Joe and Shirley Silveira; niece and nephew, Carolyn Cunha (Curt), George Cunha (Becky); much loved, Rusty and Debbie Cauley; cousins, Neil Bentley, Chyane Serena, and Ardyth Wiegandt.

Per Barbara's wishes, services were held privately.
