Barbara Garcia Soliz passed away May 14, 2014 with her family by her side, she was 83. Barbara was born on December 4, 1930 in McAllen, TX to Julio Garcia and Juana Garza Garcia. In her early childhood she met her who would later be her husband Guadalupe Alaniz Soliz, it was not until they reunited as teenagers did they become sweethearts. Barbara and Guadalupe got married on May, 7, 1949.
Barbara and Guadalupe would later have 9 children and would live in Lima, Ohio and Edinburgh, Texas before moving to the Orchard Co. in King City in 1965. In 1967 Barbara and Guadalupe would move to Greenfield where they remained and raised their 9 children. Barbara worked at Basic Vegetable Foods as a crew leader, there she would meet her friends that became her second family, and would retire after working there for 30 years.
If there was one thing in this lifetime that Barbara enjoyed the most it would be spending time with her family, dancing with her husband, and especially spending qualiy time with her grandbabies. Barbara loved her family so much and nothing meant more to her. She used to love singing to them and every grandchild and great grandchild had a lullaby sang to them by Grandma Soliz. Her favorite Past times were going on vacation to Laughlin, NV and Las Vegas, NV. She used to love scratching her lottery tickets, word search books, and watching her novelas all while sitting in her back living room with her dogs Biscuit and Nacho by her side.
Barbara is survived by 7 Children. Ruben (Maria) Soliz, King City, Israel (Debbie) Soliz, Greenfield, Gilbert "Billy" (Lupe) Soliz, Oxnard, Sylvia (Johnny) Carlin, Oxnard, Maria (Delio) Chan, Greenfield, Sandra (Duane) Juhl, Templeton, and Connie (Joe) Perez, Greenfield. She leaves 29 Grandchildren and 28 Great Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Guadalupe Soliz Sr., her sons Ramiro and Guadalupe Jr., her Grandsons Jacob Soliz and Michael Carlin.
A Rosary Service was held, 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 18th at Eddington Funeral Services. A Funeral Mass was held, 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 19th, 2014 at St. John's Catholic Church. Interment took place in King City District Cemetery.
