Anthony Charles Vaughn, also known as "AC" to most of his friends, went home to the lord on May 30, 2016. He was born October 18, 1938 to Olaf Vaughn & Rena Locatelli.
Tony was raised in Salinas California until the family moved to Glendale California, Tony Graduated from Eagle Rock High School in 1956. After High school Tony joined the U.S. Army. His tour of duty took him to Germany. He returned home to Monterey County. King City was the place he called home and where he raised his family.
Tony worked as a Monterey County Sheriff's Deputy until he found his true passion being an officer for the California Highway patrol. Tony graduated from the academy on May 23, 1966 at the top of his class. He worked from as far south as LA County to as far north as Redding and met many wonderful friends along the way. After retiring in 1983 tony followed his love for the law and went to St Mary's College in Moraga, where he studied to be a paralegal, he worked at a firm in Redding for 10 years until he finally decided to enjoy his retirement. During his retired years he moved between California and Nevada until he finally planted his roots in Gardnerville Nevada.
Tony was a devout Catholic, an extremely active member of the American Legion, a diehard Notre Dame Football fan, a member of the retired officers breakfast club "the fuzz that was." He was a wonderful cook, and he loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 3 years Donna Vaughn, Daughters Debbie (Rusty) Cauley of Paso Robles, Pat (Bobby) Thorp of Greenfield, Son Timothy Vaughn (Redding); Grandchildren, Matthew, Jim, and Abbie Cauley of Paso Robles, Amy (Doug) Hidalgo of Templeton, Carson Thorp of San Diego as well as his 2 great grandsons Van & Gage Hidalgo of Templeton.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held 11:00 a.m., July 15th at the Paso Robles District Cemetery, 45 Nacimiento Lake Dr., Paso Robles, CA 93446.
A celebration of life will follow from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Paso Robles Golf Club, 1600 Country Club Dr., Paso Robles, Calif. 93446.
