Annunziata (Nancy) Albanese, 74, of King City, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, surrounded by family.
Nancy was born April 11, 1939 in Mommala, Italy, to the late Rosolia and Salvatore Calla'. She married Sam Albanese in 1966 and relocated to King City, California.
Nancy (also known as "Nonna" by her family) was a long time resident and beloved member of the community. She loved to cook for her family and friends and took delight in working in her garden daily. Nancy enjoyed walking with friends and was passionate about taking care of her family. She was a devout Christian and an active member of the Catholic Church.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Sam Albanese of King City; brother Vincenzo (Rita) Calla, sister-in-laws Rosolia, nieces and nephews of Italy and the Albanese family. She is also survived by her children: Cheryl (Ric) Garcia of King City, Keith, Janice, and Doug (Pam) Albanese of Texas. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Melissa (Izzy) Silva, Ricky (Nicole) Garcia, and Matt (Myrsha) Garcia of King City; Bre Manuel, Lauren, Ashley, Crystal, Britney, and Stacey Albanese of Texas. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Elvira, Adreena, and Adam of King City; Taylor, Brooklyn, Jayden, Hailey, Daylen, and Aaron of Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice and the Catholic Church.
SERVICE INFORMATION:
A Rosary Service will be held, 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church, 504 N. Third St. in King City.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church.
