Obituary

Anne Taylor's obituary Anne Malcolm Taylor passed away peacefully at the age of "98" on July 28, 2022 with family surrounding her in a room filled with love.

Anne was born on November 29, 1923 in a Flat in Harrison, New York as the leaves fell from the trees. Her Grandfather George, looking into her big blue eyes, said "She's lived forever!"

Anne was raised by Irma and Leonard Landon in the Salinas Valley in California attending Buena Vista Elementary School and Salinas High School graduating in the Class of 1942. There she was the Flashlight Feature Editor and the class poet in the "Who!"

With worship as Anne's background, she fell in love with her Johnny who was singing in the choir at church one Sunday and they married and lived a "65" year love affair! Lonnie, David and Vicki soon completed the family. They made their home in King City in a lovely neighborhood on S. Vanderhurst St. Anne could walk to work from there as she was the school secretary at San Lorenzo Elementary until 1962 when the family moved to Salinas. Anne continued to work as a school Secretary at Boronda Elementary School until her retirement.

Anne with her Johnny retired to Redding, CA where they established a beautiful life with many wonderful friends and adventures! Anne moved back to the Salinas Valley after her Johnny passed. She came full circle, spending her remaining years looking down a "long dirt road" at the valley she loved.

Anne was so lovingly a daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great and great great grandmother. She was Auntie Anne, Grammy Anne, Nana, Grandnana, Mom, caregiver, homemaker, friend, lifeguard, swim teacher, book club member, adventurer, camper, traveler and sailor. These were just some of the many hats she wore in her long, beautiful life!

Anne's legacy was her poetry, rhyming words was her passion. She was a painter of the soul, a Poet!

Anne is survived by her children Lon Malcolm (Kerry), David Taylor (Cathy), Vicki Brinan, Niece Kathy Handley and 17 dear grandchildren along with great to great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Preceding Anne in death was her dear husband John (Johnny)Taylor Jr., son-in-law Billy Brinan, sister Barbara Malcolm, and brothers Bob Malcolm, George Malcolm and Tom Malcolm, Uncle Len and Aunt Irma Landon, and her parents Kathryn and Frazier Malcolm. Anne was truly a blessing! She was kind, wise, warm and wonderful. She will forever be missed!

"And soon a sweet Spring afternoon,

Or in the midst of a Winter rain,

Open your book of memories,

And the past will live again!"
