McNett

Obituary

Now in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Anna McNett was a very devout Catholic and lived a life of service, always putting her family and others before herself. Whether she was cheering on her favorite San Francisco 49ers or Giants or tending to her blooming rose garden, Anna approached life with unwavering passion and care.

Anna was born in Potlatch, Idaho, to a family of Italian immigrants in 1933. She attended elementary school and high school in Potlatch and went on to attend Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Spokane, Washington. She graduated high school in May 1950 and then moved to Spokane to begin her training as a registered nurse. Anna first worked in a hospital as a Labor & Delivery/Neonatal nurse and then spent most of her 49 year nursing career with the Salinas City School District as a school nurse at Natividad School and then with the VNA.

She met John McNett (deceased in 2018) in 1956 and married him in August 1957. Their wedding was a double wedding with her sister Nora. Anna and John had five children: Mark, Mary (deceased in 2009), Lisa, Lori, and Chris. Anna will be missed by her entire family, including her 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Anna’s life will be remembered for her selfless service, commitment to her family, and faith. Anna wrote her memoirs in 2007 and closed with the following statement: “In bringing my story to a close, I wish to give glory, praise, and thanks to Him who has blessed my families so abundantly, our Almighty and Merciful God, through the merits of His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who livest and reignest world without end, Amen.”
