Celebration of Life:

A Celebration of Life will be held for Steve and Mary at a later date.

"Steve" Stephenson was born in Santa Barbara, CA on July 17, 1924, was raised in Atascadero, CA, and graduated from Bellermine Prepatory School in San Jose, CA. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, graduating with a BS degree in Architecture. Following his service in the US Navy, he married Mary Alice Whiting on September 12, 1949 in Santa Cruz, CA, a union that flourished for 62 years.

During his career, Andrew provided architectural and structural engineering design and consulting services for five decades in Los Angeles, Ventura and Paso Robles. Significant among his many professional achievements were his design of the golf clubhouse at San Buenaventura Golf Course, his Resident Architect consulting role with the renovation of the Las Vegas MGM Grand Hotel, and his architectural advisory contributions with the design of the Niblick Bridge in Paso Robles. Steve was an avid outdoorsman, with a lifelong passion for golf, fishing, hunting and boating. He introduced his love for sport and the outdoors to his three sons at an early age, and thoroughly enjoyed the time they spent together on the water, in the field, and on the course.

Steve's quick wit, technical talents and parental wisdom will be dearly missed by his many friends, colleagues, and extended family members. He is survived by his spouse Mary Alice; his sons Jon Scott Stephenson (spouse Mary) of Santa Paula,CA, and Mark Jeffrey Stephenson (spouse Kelli) of Eugene OR; his daughter-in-law, Lucille Stephenson of Carlsbad, CA. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Jon Caytion Stephenson, Erin Nicole Stephenson, Molly Vaun Stephenson, James Andrew Stephenson and Mark Jeffrey Stephenson II. He was preceded in death by his son Eric Winter Stephenson of Carlsbad, CA.

A memorial celebrating Andrew's legacy will be held in Atascadero at a later date. Those wishing to do so, may send donations to Duck's Unlimited in Steve's honor.
