Obituary
Andrew Charnley, 51, passed away suddenly at his Templeton home early Sunday morning, July 22, 2012. He was surrounded by family.
SERVICE INFORMATION:
Andy's celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, July 27 at Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home in Paso Robles. It will be followed by an open reception at Chalk Mountain Golf Course in Atascadero.
Born in the United Kingdom on October 22, 1960, Andy moved to the Central Coast at a young age. He always considered the area to be his home, and took pride in his work here.
Andy graduated from Atascadero High School in 1978. Out of high school, he began working as a box boy at Lucky's. By the time he was 25, he became produce supervisor, making him the district's youngest manager.
His love for this area inspired him to eventually become a developer, as well as to give back to his community by making numerous charitable donations to local organizations and educational programs, including Templeton and Atascadero high schools. Additionally, Andy served as president of the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce.
Known for his humor, Andy often amused himself by playing practical jokes on unsuspecting friends and family members. He also loved sports--especially golf and baseball--and donated much of his time as a coach to the Templeton Little League. He was also deeply proud of his golfing achievements, having been on the winning teams at the Chalk Mountain Team Play Championship and the NCGA Four-Man Championship in Monterey.
Andy will be remembered for his kind heart, compassion, and genuine spirit. Always the provider, he devoted his life to his loved ones, especially his wife and four children.
Andy is survived by his wife of 13 years, Lori; children, Sean, Corie, Chandler and Skyler; parents, Mavis and Brian; siblings, Karen, Anthony and Ian; a close circle of lifelong friends; and of course, his dog, Riley. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Kevin.
