Obituary

Amos "Tyson" Filip Anderson, age 42, died in San Luis Obispo, CA, on Friday, June 27, 2014, following a short illness.

Tyson was born on May 2, 1972, in Makati, Rizal, Philippines, he grew up and lived his adult life in San Luis Obispo County.

Growing up, Tyson thoroughly enjoyed skateboarding, backpacking, fishing and hunting.
He always appreciated listening to good music. As an adult his game of choice was pool; he was an excellent player and a good instructor as well.

Tyson was generous, sharing with and caring for others in ways that would truly help. He genuinely liked people and was hard pressed to remain strangers with them. He possessed a rich sense of humor and had a wonderful smile, which he often displayed.

Being a strong advocate for accessibility for the disabled, Tyson worked hard during the initial stages in the establishment of the non-profit organization SLOCO Access. His contribution (as well as others') has served to help many in our community.

Tyson is survived by his devoted mother and best friend, Cynthia Marin, his father, John Anderson (Janice), brother, Joshua Anderson (Michelle), sisters, Karissa Anderson (Kris DeMartini), Altaire Anderson, Annika Anderson, and step-brother, Curran Sanchez. Also, he is survived by his nephew and nieces, maternal grand-mother, Ruth Wing, Uncle Steve Wing (Jone), Uncle Carl Anderson (Pat), Aunts Lorene and Carilyn Anderson, and other extended family, along with many friends.

Tyson was preceded in death by his sister, Sanora Anderson.

A private memorial gathering is planned to take place at the South Fork of the Kaweah in the Sequoia National Park as it was one of Tyson's favorite places.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Wilshire Hospice (formerly Hospice Partners) of SLO County or a charity of your choice.
